  Appraisal Checklist

The following is included in all our appraisals:

We provide you with a professionally bound report with precise detailed information on how the appraisal was conducted, pictures and pedigree of the horse, qualifications of the appraiser and other pertinent information to the appraisal. We follow all standards and ethics of "Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice."

In order to determine the correct market value of a horse, an appraiser must first inspect the appearance and condition of the horse. The information is collected, based on pedigree, conformation, level of training, and show results. The facts regarding the subject horse is measured against comparable horses and the overall market of that breed or level of training. The mathematical procedure is similar to an appraisal of real estate.

Certified appraisals are used as valid marketing tools, and make potential buyers feel more confident about a potential purchase. Appraisals also make a difference when collecting on an insurance claim, for fair market value rather than settling for company valuation.

Factors considered when determining the value of your horse:

Age
Health History
Conformation
Pedigree
Gender
Show Record
Level of Training
